Emergency & Urgent Care

If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment, do not hesitate to call us during clinic operating hours at (608) 786-0230 immediately. Always call the clinic before coming in so that our staff can advise you on your particular emergency.

For current clients only*:

West Salem Veterinary Clinic has a veterinarian available after hours, to handle life-threatening emergencies that your pet may have. Life-threatening emergencies include things such as rat poisoning, hit by a car and chocolate ingestion.

If your pet is experiencing such an emergency, call (608) 786-0230 to be connected with the on-call veterinarian during our emergency hours:

Monday through Friday until 9PM

Saturday until 5PM

No service on Sundays or Holidays

*To be a current client, your pet must have received their annual wellness exam at the West Salem Veterinary Clinic within the last 13 months.

If your pet is experiencing an emergency outside our clinic’s office or emergency on-call hours, we recommend seeking medical attention immediately at one of the following emergency vet hospitals:
