Dr. Bauer actually is originally from this area. She grew up in Dakota, Minnesota and graduated from La Crescent High School in 1996. She then attended the University of Wisconsin at River Falls for three years before she was accepted into The University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her Bachelor’s in Animal Science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees while attending the University of Minnesota. The spring that she graduated, June, 2003, Dr. Bauer started working for West Salem Veterinary Clinic as a mixed animal practitioner. WSVC is fortunate that she has been here sharing her knowledge, compassion, and skills ever since. Dr. Bauer has recently turned her focus more toward companion animal medicine and surgery, but you will also occasionally see her out at a farm.
Dr. Bauer and her husband Darin, have two girls: Peyton and Addison. They also share their home with Gucci the cat, Daisy the guinea pig, and Lizzy the bearded dragon. When not working, Dr. Bauer is always adding flowers, shrubs, and trees to their yard and her husband does a great job with the garden. In addition to yard work, she enjoys camping and football (GO BEARS!), and reading.
